The Story Behind It All
One of the most meaningful parts of this devotional is the story behind it. Because I’ve lived both sides of this. I’ve had powerful encounters with God, moments that marked me forever. But I’ve also walked through seasons where I slowly drifted without even realizing it.
I prayed less. I read my Bible less. I showed up, but my heart wasn’t fully in it. My faith didn’t disappear, but it wasn’t fully alive either.
And then everything changed.
I remember sitting in a conference I didn’t even want to attend. I was there more out of obligation than expectation. But in the middle of a session, everything shifted.
A Glimpse From the Devotional
“I didn’t want to go. But in the middle of a session, the speaker suddenly stopped and began declaring loudly, ‘You are set apart by God,’ over and over again. Something in me broke. I started shaking and crying in my seat. That moment began my awakening. I realized I was spiritually bankrupt.
A few months later, I responded to an altar call. I didn’t know what to expect, but I knew I needed to be closer to Jesus. My faith was no bigger than a mustard seed, but it was enough.
The Holy Spirit met me in a powerful way. I fell to the floor and experienced what I can only describe as spiritual surgery. And when I rose, I wasn’t the same person who had come forward. Something in me was made new. I was hungry again. My faith came alive. And my life has never been the same.”
